The Great Equalizer

AI will equalize access to knowledge, care, and opportunity.

For generations, access to the best teachers, doctors, and opportunities has been limited by the reach of traditional systems and resources. AI changes that. It can expand access to knowledge and expertise at a scale never before possible.

Healthcare — Improving lives and solving complex problems

With AI, a doctor can spend more time with a patient and less time on paperwork. A researcher can identify a promising new treatment faster. A care team can make more informed, personalized decisions with the most cutting-edge research at their fingertips.

Education — A tutor for every student

The student who never had access to a tutor can now receive personalized help when they need it, available at midnight, never out of patience, and tailored to how they learn. This isn't about replacing the classroom or the teacher. It's about giving every student access to individualized, on-demand support.

Discovery — Breakthroughs, faster

The same AI driving demand for power is accelerating the search for cleaner ways to produce it. AI is helping researchers discover new materials for batteries, advanced nuclear, and carbon capture, compressing what once took decades into a few years. In one case, Shell used AI to screen over 112 million molecules in a single month. Data centers help solve the very challenges surrounding them.

Jobs & Prosperity

The economic possibilities AI unlocks should create real and tangible opportunities for the people and communities helping build it. Freedom 7 Coalition wants every community to have a stake in what comes next and be better off because of it.

Digital infrastructure is about more than jobs. It creates new opportunities by supporting skilled work, strengthening communities, and building the foundation for the research, medical advances, and innovation that move our country forward.

The impact of a data center extends well beyond the people working inside it. From a stronger local tax base and skilled construction work to new investment and opportunity across the wider economy, the benefits can reach far beyond the facility itself. Here’s what the evidence shows about where that opportunity lives:

1. The biggest benefit is the tax base.

Data centers deliver far more tax revenue than the public services they use. They generate little traffic, need few police or fire calls, and contribute out of all proportion to their footprint, often becoming one of a county's largest taxpayers. For example, in Georgia alone, servers and equipment added an average of $1.8 billion in assessed value per major complex. That's money funding new schools, roads, and water systems that communities couldn't otherwise afford, without raising taxes on residents.

2. Construction is real work for real people.

Data center projects generate hundreds of thousands of construction-related jobs in a single year, and paychecks for the electricians, steelworkers, and HVAC techs, along with the restaurants and suppliers that serve them.

3. Permanent operations run lean by design.

A typical facility employs anywhere from dozens to a few hundred permanent staff. These are high-wage, highly skilled, stable careers, and they come attached to a tax contribution that benefits the entire community. The value of a data center was never in its headcount, any more than a power plant's value is measured by how many people work inside it.

4. The wider AI economy is where lasting opportunity lives.

This is the part that reaches well beyond the facility itself. Roles requiring AI skills are growing nearly eight times faster than the job market overall and carry a 62% average wage premium. More than half of those roles are now outside the tech sector, in finance, healthcare, and manufacturing. The opportunity doesn't require a computer science degree or a coastal zip code.

Our position: Ensure that opportunity reaches everyone.

Freedom 7 backs affordable, accessible AI training through community colleges and online programs, so a worker in a small town has the same shot as a graduate of an elite university. The infrastructure, and the opportunity it creates, should serve the communities that host it while powering the research, medical breakthroughs, and discoveries that can improve lives for generations to come.

Where AI is already delivering

The promise, in practice.

Two frontiers where AI is already changing lives for Americans everywhere.

Healthcare

Care that meets people where they are.

Enhancing Healthcare Delivery

AI is not here to replace clinicians, but to enhance their expertise and support them by easing documentation and other time-consuming administrative responsibilities, allowing them to spend more time where it matters most: at the bedside, delivering high-quality, face-to-face, patient-centered care.

This isn’t a someday promise – AI-based support isn’t just enhancing outcomes. It’s fixing longstanding challenges within healthcare. Physicians report an improved ability to connect with patients because AI reduces documentation burden and cognitive load. Rather than replacing clinician-patient interactions, AI tools help eliminate administrative burden so providers can be more present during visits.

Systemic Benefits

The rate of burnout amongst our clinicians is increasing rapidly. The challenge is clinicians believe too much of their time is spent on administrative work and too little is spent with their patients, and in return patients feel the squeeze of less and less time with their providers. AI is finally providing a real solution to this problem through recently FDA-authorized AI-enabled medical devices. AI-supported tools are already showing measurable improvements in healthcare delivery by reducing wait times and in rural health initiatives, helping clinicians perform procedures and bring services closer to patients.

Equality in Care

Access to healthcare shouldn't depend on circumstance. It should just work, for everyone. AI can make advanced diagnostic and workflow tools more widely available across the healthcare system, extending capabilities once concentrated in leading medical centers while reducing the administrative burden that gets between a clinician and their patient. It can also help bridge the gap for access to expert-level healthcare by extending clinical expertise to more patients.

This is not speculative. It is happening in American hospitals and community imaging centers right now. The FDA has authorized roughly 1,450 AI-enabled medical devices. These are cleared, regulated tools already in clinical use. Earlier detection, more consistent insights, and greater confidence in clinical decision-making can bring a new level of capability to every care team, from a family physician managing routine care to a specialist treating the most complex cases.

AI can also greatly expand access to clinical trials by continuously analyzing a patient's longitudinal records to identify who is eligible and match them with research opportunities. AI-powered recruitment, along with decentralized clinical trial platforms and remote patient monitoring (RPM), means that a lot of the study activities can be done closer to home via virtual visits, connected devices, electronic consent, and secure data collection, instead of having patients travel to major academic medical centers in urban areas.

Early Detection

AI's role in enhancing healthcare isn't limited to hospitals and doctors' offices where it’s analyzing diagnostic imaging and other test results. It's opening a new frontier at home.

AI-based wearable devices are alerting patients to symptoms faster. Thanks to biometric tracking and machine learning, patients are now aware of unusual sleep patterns, irregular heartbeats, and other occurrences that may otherwise go unnoticed.

The evidence for wearables

According to a 2024 review in the Annual Review of Medicine, modern wearables have demonstrated the ability to help detect or monitor cardiac arrhythmias, Lyme disease, systemic inflammation, and other physiological abnormalities before they become clinically apparent.

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, AI-powered wearables detected COVID-19 nearly 3 days before PCR testing.[NIH]

  • In a meta-analysis of 11.4+ million participants, wearable devices and AI-machine learning algorithms surpassed traditional cardiovascular risk assessment methods, significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy for conditions such as cardiac arrhythmias. These digital interventions reduced mortality by 38%.[Science Direct]

  • Consumer smartwatches specifically have been proven to detect abnormal heart rhythms with over 90% accuracy.[NIH]

  • At a time when approximately 80% of obstructive sleep apnea cases go undiagnosed, wearable AI systems achieved high overall accuracy for sleep apnea detection across 38 studies.[NIH]

  • Caretakers of elderly parents now have insight and visibility into their loved ones' vitals and health, with notifications and alerts of a fall, lowering glucose levels, and more.

Discovery

Breakthroughs faster.

Research for Cures

Breakthroughs once thought to be generations away—from new cancer treatments to advances in genomic medicine for historically underfunded diseases like sickle cell disease and lupus—are emerging faster than at any point in history. By harnessing AI to analyze vast amounts of genetic, clinical, and molecular data, researchers are accelerating discovery, enabling more personalized therapies, and compressing decades of research into just a few years.

Faster Drug Discovery and Delivery

AI is accelerating selected stages of drug discovery, including protein-structure prediction, analysis of complex biological data, and the identification and optimization of promising drug candidates. By using emerging AI tools, drug discovery teams can better understand relationships among molecular sequence, structure, and function while screening large numbers of potential drug candidates. These breakthrough advances could help shorten early discovery timelines for diseases and bring life-changing drugs more quickly to every American patient that needs them.
